Motorcycle Helmet Sizing Guide
|
|
Getting the right size of helmet is important for your safety and comfort. Follow the guide and chart below to determine your helmet size.
- Measure the circumference of your head. The best way is to use a cloth seamstress tape measure and wrap it around your skull about an inch above your eyebrows (see image below).
- Measure several times to make sure that you get the largest measurement.
- Take your largest measurement and locate it on the chart below.
- If your size in inches or centimeters falls between two sizes, go with the smaller size.
- A properly fitted helmet will feel SNUG!
- You should not be able to slide your fingers between the helmet and your forehead.
- The helmet should not move around freely on your head.
- If you push down on the helmet, back to front, you should not be able to push the helmet over your eyes.
- Wearing a helmet that is too large will bounce around on your head while riding and can be pushed around by the wind.
- A helmet that is too small will be uncomfortable and may cause headache and rub against your face, cheeks and skull.
